Hmm lets see here, Lanaroo... seems like it was a long time ago.... lol...
Ok, here I go. Before I left Friday morn' (11/14), the power went out a few times. The winds were clocking up to 50 plus miles per hour, or so I'm told every time it came back on, the burgler alarm came on. So it was a up and down night. Got up around 6:30 am - usually dont get up till after 9, but Pam wanted a early start...lol....( yea right, with me heheheh). So I loaded up the Coachman with more than enough guitars and clothes, and Jake the Doberman,( that ole Boy Scout thang..of 'being prepared') and left.....

Wherever You Find The Blues is Home....By Rob Johnson

Many people look at the blues as a somber, low-key form of music that dwells in misery and sadness. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Sorrow is one of the most powerful human emotions, and the purpose of all art is to give expression to our innermost feelings. For years, singing about the dark side of life has given people the opportunity to transcend their problems.

At Home with Dusty Sommers

Welcome again to my site folks! Thanks for visiting and now that you're here, pull up a chair, kick off your shoes, and let's get acquainted! Let me start by telling you a bit about my music and my life. The statute of limitations does not apply so ... where do I begin, and where does it end?

Well, let's see here.... with my music, I believe a lot of it revolves around where I live ... at the end of a dirt road surrounded by Big River on 3 sides, in a cedar cabin with my 2 Dobermans and about 7 guitars, it's real quiet, someday the only car I see is the post lady. So I just sit and play and just let the mood take me ... some of the music is what Bluesman Bukka White use to call 'Sky songs', music that just comes out of the sky and into the player... and I get a lot of that...

The car bumps along a sleepy dirt road and comes to a stop just outside a cedar cabin. Inside, you marvel at the shiny beams of wood and brass trimmed fireplace, Native American blankets and remarkable still photographs.

A sliding door to the deck renders a delicate, Currier and Ives view Big River, just at Coventry's southern edge. With J. Dustin Sommers, you quickly learn to anticipate and relish the unexpected. A young, self-proclaimed "Swamp Yankee" with proclivity for some mean delta blues, a native Conventry son who happens to be friends with some very prominent southerners-namely, the Allman Brothers Band.
